“Apartment was very spacious with a large living room and separate bedroom. Excellent shower/bathroom and decent (but basic) kitchen facilities. We had a 10-night stay visiting family nearby and it was ideal, close to shops, trams, trains, and was quiet and safe ”

“Hip boutique hotel in a fantastic location. There’s no shortage of bars, cafés, and eateries along Brunswick Street. The room was the perfect size for a solo traveller, and the bed was very comfortable. One thing to note is that there’s no gym in the building. I really enjoyed my stay and would be more than happy to return.”

“Efficient clean small hotel room with mini kitchen and laundry with comfortable bed. I looked forward to the balcony but my first floor balcony had 6' walls around it, in an alley without any sunlight , and had a neighbouring bright security light and camera on it so felt more like a prison yard.. I was disappointed that the pictures online showed a bar/food type area for socializing and there was none where I stayed. No resto/bar on site but some provisions (chips, pop, bottles) were on sale...

Birches Apartment was a good size with a comfortable layout and in a great location close to much of what Melbourne has to offer. The bed was comfortable with good quality Hotel type sheets. Yes it’s a bit tired with the age and style of the building but it’s fairly typical of other places we’ve tried in the past when we need to stay with our two small dogs.
