Villa Nidri was completed in 2021. Designed for making the most of outdoor living and built to modern high standards whilst retaining the charm of a traditional stone Greek villa. Nestled on the mountain side, Nidri has uninterrupted, panoramic sea views and captures the sun all day long. When you arrive you will be greeted by our house manager or one of her team. They will hand you the keys, show you around and take your preference for house keeping visits. These can be daily or less frequent if you prefer. There will be a welcome basket of delicious local delicacies, tea, coffee and some wine of course to help you settle and unwind after your long journey. Nidri has 4 large and spacious bedrooms, all en-suite with wet room style bathrooms. The bedrooms can be made up as either king sized doubles or as single bed twins. You can state your preference before you arrive. There is also a wooden cot, a travel cot and 4 high chairs available for the littlest guests. All 4 bedrooms have panoramic sea views and large, glass sliding doors with fly screens. These open up onto furnished, outside terraces. 3 bedrooms are situated upstairs and 1 bedroom is ground floor. Each bedroom has its own, almost silent air conditioning unit which guests can easily set to personal preference for that perfect sleeping temperature. The en-suites are all spacious with easy to use, large showers. Towels, Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are supplied. Downstairs the living area is open plan with a fully equipped, modern kitchen and sitting room area. There is a large fridge freezer, microwave, electric oven and hob, coffee maker, dishwasher, kettle, food processor, toastie maker, toaster etc. There is also a downstairs family toilet. The wide, sliding glass doors open out onto the main terrace making it feel like the outside space is just simply part of the inside. This terrace has a large dining table for Al Fresco dining and comfortable outside seating to relax and socialise whilst taking in the beautiful view. On this level there is also swinging egg chairs, bean bag seats and a hammock to snooze in. Descending the sweeping marble steps takes you down to the pool area. The infinity pool has wide built in steps for easy access. There is a shallow and a deep end.Adjoining the pool is a large heated jacuzzi. The pool and jacuzzi are both lit up internally at night making it glow perfectly for the guests that want to make the most of their pool time, even after dark. The pool is surrounded by 8 large sunbeds and wide sun umbrellas for shade. Large pool towels are supplied. To the side of the pool area is the outside kitchen. This area is shaded and has a charcoal BBQ, sink, work surface, fridge, dishwasher, utensils, cutlery and crockery and another huge dining table for outside socialising. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to BBQ in style. Underneath the villa is a utility area with a washing machine for guest use. Villa -Nidri overlooks the scenic harbour of Agios Nikolaos. Villa Nidri featured in the Sunday Times where the travel reporter wrote ‘Villa Nidri must have what can only be described as the best views on the island’. It is a few minutes drive down to the port and beach or around a 15 minute walk for guests that enjoy excercise. We recommend guests hire a car for their duration of the stay to make the most of the island experiences. Whilst the harbour may appear small, it is a very important part of Island life. In the summer months it is bustling with various yachts and boats plus the Zante to Kefalonia ferry that docks twice a day. Boating tours offer fishing trips or excursions to see the blue caves and the famous shipwreck at Naviago Beach. Based in the harbour are various shops and tavernas. Hidden away in the furthest corner of the harbour is the tiny, peaceful and very beautiful Madrakia Beach. Perfect for swimming and snorkelling in the warm, clear turquoise water and followed by a delicious meal or drink at the small and friendly family run Madrakia Taverna. At the furthest point to the left of the harbour and right on the waters edge, is La Storia Taverna. Here the beach is sandy and long. The shallow water is perfect for the children and just like Madrakia, the family run La Storia is ready to welcome you for delicious local food and drinks at any time. La Storia also has a weekly traditional Greek night through the summer months and this experience should not be missed. Lining the opposite side of the harbour road are several more small tavernas, shops, a pharmacy and a couple of street food outlets offering gyros, pastry’s, smoothies and coffee. Every Nidri guest has said that the views are spectacular and awe inspiring. One guest wrote ‘I have spent too many hours just floating in the pool with my arms folded on the edge and chin resting on them, just staring at the breathtaking views and observing the wonderful wildlife that is quietly happening around me. No photo can ever do it justice’. As peaceful as it is there is so much to watch and see at Nidri. From the eagles and kestrels that soar above, to the lizards that sunbath on the garden walls, the goats that travel around the mountain with their tinkling bells and the beautiful butterflies that occasionally and amusingly seem to develop a passion for wine! There is no light pollution, so even at night you will become lost in fascination at the beautiful starry sky. There is never a dull moment in Nidris tranquility. Nidri is an experience not to be missed.
