“Amsterdam´s College Hotel”
Amsterdam´s College Hotel is well located, and sits in a beautiful old brick building that has been turned into a contemporary hotel. The place is spacious and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The only catch however, is that most of the staff are young trainees working in the hotel as part of their professional training (hence the name of the "College Hotel"). For that reason, the service can falter. They are nice and well intended but unexperienced. Also, the internet service (which was available through a wireless network) went off during the weekend that I stayed there. There was nobody who seem to know what to do, or thought that this was a serious issue that needed immediate repair. Bottom line: stay there if you can get a good rate as it is a good quality-price option, but don´t expect top top service.
“Near museums but a little too far out to walk. Expensive for price.”
I felt it was expensive for what I got. The hotel is a lovely building 5 mins walk to Museumplein with the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum in a nice leafy area. You can walk to Leidseplein or Weteringshans in about 15-20 mins so it's quicker to get the number 5, 16 or 24 tram if you want to go further into the centre. I stayed in room 217. It was a corner room with lie-ins so perhaps a bit smaller than other rooms. The bathroom was immediately off the room with a sliding doors, whereas other rooms seems to have the bathrooms separate at the front of the room giving more privacy. It had a nice rain shower but no bath. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, although these were advertised on Expedia. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. I did not eat in the hotel but there is a wonderful bakery called Bakken Met Passie on Albert Cuypstraat. Le Garage restaurant is also just round the corner.
“Really great place!”
Staying in this hotel was really a great experience. And the price was really quite reasonable. It's far enough away from the major party spots so as to be quiet and relaxing. But it's very close to the museums (one tram stop away) and the center of town (a handful of tram stops away) so as to be convenient. I highly recommend the college hotel.

The College Hotel = tolles Hotel mit super Service. Die Lage ist zwar nicht ganz inmitten des nightlifes aber mit der Tram (Haltestelle vor der Tür aber nicht zu hören) schnell und bequem zu erreichen.

Très bel hôtel effectivement de très bon confort et avec un excellent accueil... le seul hic : les fenêtres ne sont pas doublées et certaines chambres donnant sur la rue sont assez sonores.

Hôtel de luxe dirige par une equipe sympathique et très disponible.Arrives très tôt le matin,des 9 heures a l'hôtel ,il nous a cependant été donne une chambre et cela était parfait.Cela nous a permis de profiter de notre séjour des le premier jour.Vraiment un hôtel que je recommande.Bien localise a 15 minutes du centre ville en tram et dans un quartier tranquille avec des points d' intérêts,musées ,vondepark,marche Albert Cyrup très proches.
