“We stayed 4 nights and highly recommend Hotel Varusha. Everyone we met from checking in to our departure was friendly and helpful, even using a translation device to chat about the fascinating history of Veliko Tarnovo.
The location is in the Old Town and in a good location for sightseeing, cafés and restaurants. Our room had a lovely view over the atmospheric orange -tiled rooftops to green hills beyond. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom.
We didn't use the kitchenette...
“We loved the ambience of the hotel. Everywhere you looked were bits of history from photographs and paintings to the antique furniture. The room was comfortable with all the amenities you could need and the staff was friendly and attentive to all our needs. It was a FABULOUS find!”
“I would never stay at that hotel. The room smelled like sewage. We brought it up to staff and they said that all of the rooms smelled like that.... at one point we were the only ones at the hotel, and now I understand the reason.
The staff were very nice, but sleeping with the smell of sewage was a very unpleasant experience.

"Very nice and brand new hotel. Excellent italian restaurant and excellent service at the restaurant. The lady who manages the restaurant is master of italian food and knows how to make customers feeling special.
Room ok. Excellent location close to the historical city centre (2 min walking).
Pity that first night heating in my room was not working and it was terrible! Fixed the day after but too kate.. i got a cold because of that"
