Cottage in Alaska

“The house was clean and plenty of room for all of us to lounge after a day of hiking (seating for 4). Appreciated the kitchen being fully stocked and the little cooler for day hikes. We were able to make all our meals which was great since the house is remote. We had a young moose visit us two days. “We really enjoyed this quiet green oasis in Mendenhall Valley. Our favorite part was being right next to the Brotherhood Bridge Trail -- you really do walk right over that tiny bridge in the picture, and are right on the trails. Our toddler loved exploring tiny paths through the woods, as well as the very quiet neighborhood playground that was only a minute's walk through the trees. We loved enjoying our coffee on the porch. “My wife and I stayed one night and as a hobby wood worker I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to stay at Carriage House. The timber frame structure was beautiful, the custom cabinets and trim were impeccable, and the gazebo that housed the hot tub has to been seen to be appreciated. Ladies, if your man likes to work with wood this is a place they've got to see. ”

“We were very disappointed, as it did not match the pictures. Property was unkempt and overgrown with weeds. The outhouse had cobwebs and was not very clean. The cottage was a bit rundown, and poorly supplied. There were no paper towels or tissues, and only 2 little kitchen towels and 1 washcloth, so it was difficult to maintain any decent hygiene, or even wash the dishes. If you are considering this place, bring towels and all your own supplies. ”

“The place was very clean with everything thing you need. My only issue was the tv and couch weren’t facing each other. After a day of working, I just wanted to relax with a movie. I have a neck fusion so turning my neck far is difficult to do for long. It would be much better to face the couch towards the tv straight on. Even the tv extension only extended out so far. It’s silly but that was my only issue but definitely not a deal breaker. Would stay again. ”
