“This was my second stay at the Royal hotel, the rooms are very clean and tidy, shared bathroom is spotless, there is a kitchen for all the people staying, always plenty of coffee, tea and milk supplied and plenty of plates cups and cutlery complete with a microwave oven. Down stairs is complete with great food, plenty of areas to sit down relax while you enjoy a brew or two as I did. “Good location. Quiet Street. A lift then a small flight of stairs. We stayed in a studio apartment. Heating was good bed was good. the kitchen had stove fridge kettle toaster but lacked simple utensils like tongs & lids for the saucepan. The bathroom was clean but again there was nowhere to put toiletries except the floor of the shower,So with a few additions I would give 5/5 Also would stay there again for sure. Staff lovely”

“I opted for this hotel as prices in town had spiked up. The reality is quite far from what you see on internet. It is a decent place but could improve on cleanliness (carpeted floor is below acceptable, especially if you have a dust allergy - I suggest they get a better vacuum cleaner as a starting step). Staff is nice and most helpful. The area offers quite a different take on greater Melbourne.”

“Room was ancient, dirty & stained. Bathroom had mold all around. Aircon was excessively noisy, like a part needed to be replaced. Breakfast was ok and room size was good. Would have been nice 30 years ago.”

“Very nice and modern room, great in all areas of; cleanliness, bed, water pressure, wifi air conditioning and staff. In particular great location surrounded by parks. Zoo is just a 10 minute walk also Brunswick shops are very interesting also just a 10 minute walk away.”

“Clean. Tidy. Staff were amazing. Breakfast delicious. Underground parking not operating so had to self park off site. Not ideal but we were only staying 1 night so not much luggage. Would stay again.”
