“The host was very welcoming and gave a very detailed explanation. Although I was only staying one night, I felt the warmth and care of family. The room was clean; it was obviously cleaned regularly, many times a week.”

“The location was ideal. The room was dated but fine. It looked like the sheets on the pull out bed had not been changed from last guest and there were a lot of ants. We were also asked to pay a deposit when we arrived, which I wasn't aware of and eventually they let it go but not without having to get upset about it.”

“Check in was a bit confusing but that’s because it was my first time ever in Auckland NZ, other then that hotel was amazing very clean very respectful and tons of privacy, I can definitely see myself staying here again with future friends and family! “The best hotel in Auckland! Beautifully appointed, exceptionally clean rooms. Amazing staff, that are always attentive and helpful. There is nothing to fault at Hotel DeBrett. I have stayed at Intercontinental Auckland, Park Hyatt, Hotel Britomart…Hotel DeBrett is my favourite of the lot. Staff at Vivace, the onsite restaurant are also just wonderful. Always have a smile on their face and very welcoming. Nothing to fault whatsoever! 5 stars all round.”

“Came to Auckland for a concert. Tribe was walking distance from everything we needed, the rooms were quiet and peaceful, and everything was very clean. Check in and out were easy and pleasant. Didn't eat in the restaurant but had a couple of nice drinks, it's a great spot for people watching and planning your day.”

“We checked in and unfortunately the first room we were given wasn’t finished. Lights hanging out of the roof mirror on the floor. Went to reception and was told we would need to wait an hour. Told the manager we needed to get ready for a function, gave us free breakfast and found a room quickly. Good work. However in the room the tracks for the drapes didn’t cover the whole window. Maybe opened a week early. Quality checks not done by the looks. Nice hotel and good location. Just need to iron...
