“Super close to Merriweather Post Pavilion, the shuttle service two and from the concert venue was spot on. It was great to not have to worry about driving and the hotel itself was clean with a very helpful staff.”

“Beautiful location. It’s in the heart of Columbia but tucked away perfectly for a nice retreat. Right by a nice trail. The view of the lake is breathtaking. Pool closes kind of early so make sure you pay attention to the time. Restaurant was worth every penny. Beds were nice. Loved the personalized touch with the tv having my name on it.”

“Check in took 25 minutes. Our shower did not work the night we arrived and maintenance could not fix it. They brought a bucket with a pitcher to our room so we could pour water over our heads while standing in the shower. We were told when we woke up we could come to the front desk and get a new room for our second night however at 7 o’clock in the morning we were awoken by a loud banging noise. It was maintenance and they fixed it which was good, however, this was not the resolution that was...

“Rooms are extremely clean. Staff is very accommodating and they welcome pets”

“They had no rooms available for hours after checkin time. Dozens of people stuck in the lobby complaining. Staff lied about how long it would take for rooms to become available repeatedly. No attempt to accommodate anybody. No list of who was even waiting first, completely unorganized. Waited an hour while the problem only got worse before just leaving and finding a different hotel.”

“I ended up staying long-term due to home renovations, and it felt as comfortable as home and was better than expected. The staff were friendly, but I think a signpost indicating the location of the room is needed.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Wayside Inn. Our host, Joe, was very helpful and was a great chef! Our breakfasts were very good and got us ready for the day ahead. Parking was not a problem and the surrounding yard was shady and pleasant. The giant oak in the front is reported to be 200 or more years old. Our room and bath were well maintained. We would definitely stay there again. The Inn also has a great history dating back to the late 18th Century. It is said that George Washington stayed there...

“I stayed in B2, which is a basement room. It had a VERY strong mildew odor, chipped furniture with crooked drawers, and patchwork paint on the ceilings. This room does NOT warrant the 3.5 rating that this property has, however, other rooms may be better. The shower was clean, however, so they earned one Star for that.”
