It’s surprising that a five-star property has what feels like a dog kennel element, with noticeable smells in parts of the outdoor recreational area. From what I could see the dogs are there on a pet rental scheme. On our only night there, there were multiple occasions where the pack of dogs began barking, which disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. “There is a tiny desk, so if you need to work, it can only fit a laptop. Room is ok for one person for 8 days stay, it would be too much for 2 people for a long stay if you plan to stay in the room a lot ( to work like me). The room is clean and cleaning crew is super friendly. However the lobby staff is not so much. They are not mean, but not friendly either. There is no smile or greeting “Hi” what so ever. “Great location when visiting Banqiao district near Taipei. Right next to subway, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. A bit older hotel that the water in shower will take a few mins to warm up, but with all what you needed and great staff. The breakfast is also amazing. ”
