“This older home was well maintained and comfy. It was close to the centre of Banbury and down the hill to Banbury Cross and the statue of the lady on the horse. Breakfast is included and there is a wide range of cold or hot meal options; there is a kettle in the room with tea bag’s and coffee packs with sugar and UHT milk made it easy to have a hot drink in your room early morning or in the evening. “The room was spacious, had a comfortable bed, and great shower. It was very plain white with minimal decoration. No air conditioning, but a good floor fan that kept us sufficiently comfortable. You are given a security code for self check in and the rooms are up a staircase to the second floor. You can hear other people open and close their doors but no one bothered us. “Property is off the beaten path. Very quiet. Rooms are clean and modernized. Staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Property is beside open fields and trails. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Easy access to the pub and the restaurant. Breakfast included lots of options and was ample. A great overall experience.”

“I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford.
