“Delusions of grandeur. A very small room with barely enough room to open a suitcase, slightly shabby decor. So many cushions on the bed that when you removed them they took up most of the available floor space! Bathroom ok but nowhere to put toiletries. Dinner ok, but nothing special. It was all “ok” but disappointing compared to the hype on the website.”

“Ok but do NOT book in the summer!! Only one room has air con and the heated towel rail can not be turned off! Even with the fuse removed (owner advised we remove). This made the bathroom ridiculous hot which filtered through to the room. Room wasn’t the cleanest, stains up the walls from coffee (I hope) Aircon in all rooms would make it much more comfortable and the rest could be overlooked. Staff were fantastic though.”

“Absolutely gorgeous room and friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Lovely grounds and easy walk to the university campus. Would definitely stay again when in the area :)”

“Hotel had a burst water pipe in the early hours of the 16th Jun so was closed on arrival. I arrived at 19:00 for a two night stay, with no communication stating the hotel was closed for business”

“Nice enough hotel but very tired and a bit out of the way. Moved here after one night in Premier Inn which was much nicer and better located. No breakfast option as far as we could tell.”

“Really comfortable bed. Super clean. Great for a couple of nights stay. Close to the University to meet up with our daughter. Would recommend the Beth Chatto Garden near by for a visit. ”
