Highly recommend this Empress Palace ( Hotel stays ) to friends.”

“Check in was easy. The front door and the room had a key code so there was no need for keys or key cards. There is a little shoe storage area when you walk in for your shoes. The property left us snacks and water for our room when we checked in, and even offered additional bottles of water the next day. There is a nice bathroom and a decent sized closet in the room we were in, with a large window and a balcony. These may not be available with the other rooms at the property I'm not sure, I...

“The 1 night room charge was excessively overpriced due to FIFA going on in Vancouver. We had no reason to stay in Surrey but it was the best hotel option within 1 hour’s drive for BC Ferries to get back home to Nanaimo. I’m still feeling sick about being forced to spend 3-5x the normal price of a hotel because of soccer fans! It might have been cheaper just to change our flights so in the future that’s what I will do to avoid being screwed like this hotel charge was.”
