“gorgeous place up in the woods. you wont see a neighbor or traffic. nice little brook out back with an excellent sound. Front porch rockin' chairs were a favorite. Franklin WV is 4 miles away with a few restaurants and groceries if you care. Kitchen was great and had all the necessary things. turn off all the lights and step outside at night and it is pitch black except for the stars. WIFI was very handy and TV had Samsung streaming apps.”

“This home provided a perfect stay for me and my companions. A typical morning consisted of cooking breakfast on the blackstone while viewing the rocks, walking down to the creek and enjoying the solice, and walking 10 minutes to Yokum's. Our afternoon included hiking nearby trails and walking along the river. Our nights were spent inside the house that really feels like a home. “This cabin was perfect for a quick weekend away. It had everything we needed from paper towels, tissues, and toilet paper (not the cheap kind either) to bottles of water in the refrigerator. It was extremely clean. The area was quiet. The only thing we regret is not being able to sit on the porch because it was too chilly. Would absolutely recommend. ”

“The Rusty Lantern is a spacious cabin with all the amenities and a wonderful view of the mountains of West Virginia. Everything is spotless and nothing has been overlooked. The appliances look brand new and the furnishings and decorative touches tell a story as well as being lovely to regard. The hosts are super responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.”

“The property is okay inside but outside needs improvement including the deck boards with nails sticking up, yard was not mowed. Like I said it was ok but I wouldn’t go back.”
