“Horrendous smell. Foul drains and the kitchen may have been frying in my room the smell was that strong. The walls are paper thin, if someone runs a tap the noise is piercing. Hotel is not manned most of the time. You are given an emergency number on a key ring which is not legible.
I had to sleep with my nose covered because the smell was that bad.
Staff were unhelpful on checkout. Expedia couldn’t get in touch with the hotel so fobbed me off. Never again”

“Lovely property in countryside attached to a very well maintained golf course. No bath robes, slippers or safe in the room which I would have expected for a hotel of this type and price point. Very clean and well looked after. Helpful, pleasant local staff.”

“Surreal surroundings, little river next to the hotel making a very nice soundtrack, very characteristic decor, with fireplaces, christmas feeling and good food in their pub
The room was spacious enough with an old but lovely canopy bed”

“This was my first trip alone. Sadly my husband passed away in December. Whilst dining I was sat next to a couple who were given preferential treatment. I was feeling quite vulnerable anyway and was just ignored. Everyone should receive the same treatment.
Also my meal was very poor.”
