“We booked 2 rooms initially back in march to stay the night before download festival and the night after. Our friends had booked the same place and one had booked the week before . When we got there all our friends had their rooms booked , even our friend who booked the week before. When it came to us checking in our booking wasnt there, even though i had the confirmation email. “The hotel has has a recent upgrade and looks amazing. Set in beautiful grounds and walking distance stroll into town. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome by staff and our room was lovely too. The stairs are beautiful and the facilities and areas around the ground floor of the hotel are really comfortable and relaxing to enjoy. Parking is only £5 for 24 hours and the staff are so friendly and helpful.”

“The room was fine, not exceptional, for me, as I was only staying for 6 nights. I hadn't booked breakfast as it was only offered on a Sunday, but there is a "Sandwich Stop" attached to the hotel in the car park. Parking was adequate, but trying to exit onto the busy main road was a nightmare, as the hedges were so overgrown and hadn't been trimmed, so it was impossible to see traffic approaching from both directions. “Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. ”
