I do wish I knew ahead of time that you need to bring your own water for cooking. There is water at the bathhouse and camper but both are lake water. “We had a wonderful stay at this well-appointed cabin. It truly had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Even with the snow falling, we spent our evenings building cozy fires in the outdoor pit and enjoying the hot tub. When we weren't outside, the basement TV made for perfect movie nights. The highlights of our trip, however, were the breathtaking sunsets over the lake, which we watched daily from the spacious living room. “We had a great time at the cabin, and Hickory and Black Lakes. Caught lots of fish, and enjoyed hiking. The host was very responsive to any communication, even repairing the internet satellite antennae the same day it became damaged. Loved the porch, as one day an eagle flew by the windows just a few feet away. Enjoyed the evening sounds of the bullfrogs and loons. I very nice and relaxing getaway!”

“Absolutely amazing property. Peaceful setting. We saw multiple deer running through the back yard and our dog had a field day watching them. We absolutely loved the home, it was clean and very well stocked. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the soaking tub at night. We are planning to head back to the area in the future and will definitely plan on staying here again.”

“Our motel room was very basic. Overall the room seemed clean but the general condition of the space made it feel run down and had a lot of past hard use. Website pics of the room don't portray what you really get for the high cost of the stay. The bathroom seemed clean and the tub was fairly new, but the sink was totally plugged and the bathroom door scraped heavy on the floor so that it was very difficult to close. The big air conditioner was loud and not particularly effective, and didn't take...

“Breakfast was Delicious on day one but no one in the dining room at 7 on day two. I had to leave and was disappointed. I returned just after ten and everything was put away. But a kind kitchen staff gave me a slice of quiche right out of the oven. It saved the day for me. Conveniently located just outside the city limits and very nice views of the River. Spacious room. Bathroom fixtures need replacing.”
