“The castle was beyond any expectations we had! The food was beyond wonderful! We had a six course meal in the dining room. We were blown away by the cleanliness, the attentiveness of the staff, the property itself! Everything was just wonderful! We are actually hoping to go again soon!”

“Charming hotel, ideally situated by the Abbey. Choice of lounges to sit in the evening, loved the decor. It was drizzling so we couldn’t use the outdoor space.
Enjoyed a delicious evening meal in the restaurant and full English breakfast next morning. All staff so friendly and welcoming. Loved the stories of the local area involving pigs, emus and tigers!”

“We booked a room as part of a wedding party .wedding was at 2pm.
Check in is 4pm which is quite late ,we had to be in the orangery for 4pm so staff managed to check us in 3.40pm .Room was perfect, slept well,breakfast amazing. Food at the wedding of Becky and Mark was incredible. Our first visit here and we will definitely return and use the pool/spa as we didn't get chance to on this occasion.
Check out at 11am is good, no rushing around. Thankyou for a lovely stay ”

The hotel was beautiful, the service was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, the shower hot and powerful.
We enjoyed some nice food in the atrium bar, a lovely afternoon tea in the 1853 restaurant. And some nice 6 oclock gin on the terrace - all with fantastic service.
The only negative was the room was so hot it was uncomfortable, a fan was provided and was really needed. There...

“Lovely stay, greeted at reception with a great check in lots of information for us was offered by the very friendly reception staff.
Room was accommodated in the modern block but not dissappointed as very light and roomy.
Great coffee machine with fresh milk in the fridge along with water.

“The hotel is perfectly located for both the Theatre Royal and Ustinov Theatre as you can walk to either in about thirty seconds! There are also numerous bars, coffee shops and restaurants in the immediate area.
Despite being centrally located, I didn't hear any noise from outside at all.
My room was quite compact but very comfortable, the shower was great as was the bed.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Fabulous location a short drive or park & ride bus from the city centre. Lovely setting and well maintained. Staff were friendly and happy to assist. Food was lovely, with a nice selection for breakfast. Rooms were well designed and spacious, with a lovely private courtyard. Loved being able to have my dog with me and she was even permitted in the bar and breakfast room (not in main area near breakfast bar, which was fine as I had company to watch her). Would stay again 😁”

We have stayed in this hotel for the air show on numerous occasions, but unfortunately on this occasion we found the hotel to be a little bit tired in its décor and overall appearance. we can't comment on anything else as we didn't have anything else other than a good couple of nights sleep.”
