“The room rate was great for the area. Beds were comfortable and overlooked fields of wheat, and views of Bamburgh castle in the distance. Considering the location next to a busy road it was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful when a bath mat was requested.
Beds were comfortable and the room had all the basics. Bathroom was small but nothing out of the standard for a hotel of this price bracket.
I had the cooked veggie breakfast which was tasty and a good sized portion. ”

“We booked this very last minute and got the last room! It was advertised as small and delivered. Beggars cant be choosers but it was clean and comfortable. The car park is small so unless you're there early its one of the many privately owned car parks in the town and harbour. Beware of the time limits and restrictions. Hotel has a lovely outside seating area in the late afternoon sunshine. Didn't have diner at the hotel but breakfast was buffet style with an excellent choice for all the fussy...

“This was a rabbit warren of a hotel, with rooms of all shapes and sizes scattered throughout the site. We were initially given a very dark room, which was a strange shape, and a yapping dog next door; we were given a much better room when we complained.

“Grand old building , room clean and tidy , excellent night’s sleep . Breakfast good loved the timed sit down . Significant problem in that to ensure right mix of tables, all through the meal tables were being dismantled rolled out to a storage room and others replaced and set . A bit like breakfast whilst refurbishment on going .”

“We stayed in The Chapel Room, which was beautiful, so unique - with stunning stained glass windows, very spacious, gorgeous decor/furnishings and a super comfortable, large bed. The hospitality/housekeeping staff are all extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast was delicious and served by a smiling, friendly and helpful team - we always receive excellent customer service, thank you. The breakfast room/restaurant and resident's lounge are lovely to relax in too. ”

“Unfortunately, the check-in at this hotel was one of the worst I’ve experienced. Firstly, they do not accept American Express, which was inconvenient and not clearly stated in advance. The receptionist then struggled to process my alternative card, insisting it didn’t work. I politely asked her to try again and of course, the card worked perfectly the third time, confirming it was a user error on her part.
What made the situation worse was her lack of apology or acknowledgment of the mistake....

“Enjoyed a pleasant short stay here as a family. Service in the pub/restaurant/breakfast was prompt and friendly and food was good quality and value. Our room was unexpectedly warm for the time of year, despite radiators being turned-down but there was already a good fan in the room to counter this. We had no issues with noise despite being above the pub. ”

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and very obliging.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings and couldn’t fault our meals at all.
