“A last minute event meant the we needed somewhere to stay so we decided to treat ourselves to Dinner Bed & Breakfast at the White Lion. It was a bit busy when we arrived but the staff were welcoming though we only go directions to our room as the lad needed to get back to the bar. The room was lovely, generally well appointed. “A lovely quirky hotel in the centre of Southwold. The staff were brilliant in every area: reception, breakfast, bar, dinner. While the room was quite small, there were nice touches. Free parking is a bonus. It’s an old building so don’t expect air conditioning and there’s lots of creaky staircases. The seagulls are noisy in the morning but you’d expect that being next to the sea. We had breakfast and dinner both nights and the food quality was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend this...

“was unable to sleep in the bed as the room had a major issue with black mould in the bathroom which had become airborne & affected the the entire room the smell was over powering slept in a chair as the bed was cover with the black mould smell & was unable to breath, suffer with chest infections which the spores got on my chest I had to call 111 & was directed to Ipswich hospital for antibiotics, never even stopped for breakfast on day 2 felt to ill on antibiotics for next 5 days, this all...

“Room was clean and fully equipped for a quick morning coffee which is helpful. Staff was nice and check in and out were very smooth. The only problem is that room isolation is not very good so we could hear noises from the outside and inside the property late at night. Would recommend irrespective of it. ”
