“ The pictures do this place justice. While the units do look like the pictures, these pictures were clearly taken pre-hurricane. The property is pretty damaged from the hurricane and the first unit they gave us had mold in it. We finally got into a second room four hours later and the shower had hair in it, all over the walls and floor. They don’t offer cleaning services for free, we were told that if we wanted cleaning services, there would be a fee. For the amount of money we paid for the room...

“Our stay at Villa Island Paradise was exactly the escape we needed. The room was impressively clean, and the staff was so welcoming and helpful throughout our trip. Having laundry on-site was a huge plus for refreshing our gear after beach days, and being so close to local shops made grabbing daily essentials a breeze. It’s a rare find that feels both high-end and totally relaxed—we’re already planning our return!”

“This is a great place and a great value. If I could change only one little thing it would be to get the water in the shower a little more hot; it’s not cold but not quite hot—a little over lukewarm. I’m sure this could be a quick fix from a maintenance engineer. There is a little road noise, as well, which you can’t help being that close to the main road. “The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! ”

The simplicity might be a little less than what some want, but the stay met every one of our needs. The environment was beautiful and the beach was our favorite on the island!
