“Bathroom was outdated and had some mildew issues. Bed was uncomfortable. Staff was wonderful.”

“Not that it was a bad issue but the pool was being remodeled and was closed. So my wife decided to use the jet tub in the king suite. The jets did not work and black flaky stuff came out of the tubes. Overall it was a great stay and the staff was great. I cannot remember her name, but she was the hostess/waitress in the restaurant for breakfast and she was great! Very kind and helpful! Appreciated that very much.”

“The grounds are very pleasant. I needed to change original room due to very strong musty smell as well as super strong varnish odor. Owners were very quick to offer another room. So I do feel satisfied with that. Not the cleanest but was very affordable compared to other places in the area. I guess I got what I paid for. But I wouldn’t stay again.”

“Way too hot in the hotel (81 degrees on the thermostat in the breakfast room). Staff walking around barefoot, room not well cleaned (hair in the corners on bathroom floor upon arrival, dirty looking tub, missed some obvious things when vacuuming). “Staff was excellent, and I understand that this is the cheapest hotel in Wausau. However the people that were staying there were mostly drug addicts, there were a few nights I had watched drunks slouched over by the doors, people talking to themselves and whatnot. One night I had a drunk guy in his 50s knocking on my door multiple times over the span of an hour because he was too drunk to realise he was at the wrong door. If you need a quick stay and you’re low on funds stay here but if you can...

“Room was clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was always hot, full and ready. We had no issues with parking on any of the 4 days there. 2 small things I found different but not serious. For breakfast there was no salt or pepper for taste. Our room while kept clean and stocked our dirty towels piled up. Again, neither item was in anyway an issue that would cause me to complain or not suggest others to stay at the Wausau Hampton Inn.”
