“Was travelling on Blue Ridge Parkway and spent the day hiking in the Rock Castle Gorge. Floyd is closest town to the Gorge. Hotel Floyd is amazingly modern and clean hotel in a very small and charming hamlet of VA.”

“When you arrive at the motel, your first impression is what was I thinking. The outside is not an indicator of the cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are very nice inside and i'm a very picky traveler. Beds were very nice. Actually, the whole experience inside was wonderful. Nice little cafe next door to get food. I would spend the night there again.”

“Staff was very accommodating. Hotel and room were very clean. Breakfast offerings were good. Only negative was there was no easy way to fill a water bottle with cold water. Hotel located right off highway so easy access. Overall a great hotel.”

“Very disappointed with the expedia & quality inn!! For the price we paid, ( $170)we truly felt conned!! As the pics in expedia shows lovely 3 star hotel with upgrades. But the reality was it’s a beaten down motel with dirty carpets, super suspicious dirty & stained couches, as if picked up from roadside !! Which costs $50/night They have done some upgrades, that ain’t gonna change the fact it is nothing but a shady roadside motel. Booked a non smoke room. But had cigarette smell in the room....

“Breakfast was excellent with turkey sausage, pork sausage and bacon all offered. Coffee machines featured freshly ground beans. Property was clean and quiet. Staff at desk were very friendly”

“Amazing walking distance to the race track. Above and beyond customer service. Hard mattresses, broken toilet seat, cold water don’t work in shower. ”

“There was an old dirty looking armchair in the corner. Hair clog in the bathroom sink and no stopper for the sink. Heating unit ran so loudly TV volume had to be turned up very high. No facial napkins in the container. A small glob of some small substance was on the floor between the bed and table lamp furniture surfaces or scratched and worn so they did not look clean. The staff I met however were polite and helpful. ”

“Amazing top-floor views on both sides—definitely the highlight. Clean rooms and common areas, nice decor, and I loved the no-carpet floors. Amenities were fine but felt standard for the price. The pool was nice but a bit stark without greenery. Downsides: limited healthy breakfast options. The surrounding area isn’t pedestrian-friendly (few sidewalks/crosswalks), especially for those with disabilities, and there was some trash around, though it felt safe.
