The apartment is conveniently located in the Piazza San Marco just north of the Duomo. When we arrived we took a taxi from the train station since we weren't sure how to get there, but on the way back we walked to the station and it's only about 10 minutes away. Elizabetta and her son promptly met us outside the apartment and were very pleasant to work with. She oriented us to the apartment and to Florence, gave us some good suggestions for restaurants and the nearest grocery store, etc. The apartment is located on the top floor of the building so there are many steps, but for me that's not a negative - it's quieter than on the ground level, the view is better, and there are sky lights to let in the sun. There is a large bedroom with a bathroom and another bedroom with bunk beds and an adjacent bathroom, a spacious kitchen with all the amenities, and a comfortable living room. From the apartment all of Florence was within walking distance. The Accademia museum (home of David) is just around the corner, the Mercato Centrale (for produce, bread, cheese) is a few blocks away, and the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery are just a little further to the south. I would recommend the apartment to anyone vacationing in Florence.
