The hotel itself was nice and the front of house staff are very friendly. Location is super convenient as it is right across from the main beach and a short drive from Las Olas.
The issue comes with the hotel struggling to service guests at full capactiy. When my eife and I stayed, we experienced"
- 10 minute waits for an elevator jncluding witnessing one break down forcing fire and rescue to come on site and rapel someone out of the shaft
- 45 minute waits for takeout at the beach side restaurant (the bartender advised we get our food ourselves as he would take even longer)
- the need to get to the beach at 9am when they open in order to get an umbrella
- terrible staff at the desk that told us we couldn't have the room which we reserved (full king suite) as they were at capacity and we booked through Expedia so there was nothing they could do. The manager's only solution was to "book through Hilton instead next time"
Very disappointing as there were a number of things outside of the hotel's control which I can empathize with but the opportunities they had to make things right, they did not seize. There is room for improvement but the facility and location is nice as mentioned before.
In contrast, I went for a coffee down the road at the Westin Starbucks and one of the staff there saw me in the long line. He then offered to take me up to their Lavazza cafe upstairs and eacorted me there himself... customer service!
