“The room was clean, the staff were nice. The room was a bit on a small side. The water pressure of the shower was a little weak.”

Our daughter was a student at U of M and we have stayed at many of the on-campus hotels throughout the years. The Vanguard is in a class of its own! I can't wait to stay there again!!! “My bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. I did read in advance that the kitchens were not stocked- you would have to ask the front desk for supplies like utensils and glasses, which I did. The only thing in the kitchen was a kitchen towel and a small packet of dishwasher detergent. But there wasn't a dishwasher, so cleaning your borrowed kitchen items with dishwasher detergent powder is not exactly normal. They should have little bottles of dish soap. My fridge and freezer were set to...

“They lie about the sizes of the beds. I was on a full mattress and they said it was a king. They said there would be a tub in my room. There’s no tub. The room was very small and dirty. There was no towels and when I would go to the front desk and ask for towels every single night they never had. I ended up having to buy towels from Walmart. I left them there so that they could wash them and give them to the next guest honestly.”

“The first thing was the entrance into the hotel lobby, it was as narrow and the front door of a home. The cement was broken on spots. You could see spots on the fascia that needed repair not to mention the interior of the hotel. It only had 2 luggage carriers and they felt like they were ready to fall apart as we wheeled our luggage to our room. There was no coffee pot ot hair dryer in the room and the TV left alot to be desired; the channels were fuzzy and picture not clear. The hotel needs a...
