“Property was nice, exceeded expectations. Rooms were cute with each room separate cabins. Property is smaller than it looks in the pictures, and is a bit towered over by a hotel next door. Direct view of volcano. Restaurant was beautiful with lots of birds. Breakfast was great (didn’t try any other meals there). Hot springs were much nicer than in the pictures. ”

“Hot springs are amazing. Grounds are beautiful allow at least an hour to walk around. Hotel charged us for someone else’s drink but they fixed it. Highly recommend ”

“My husband and I stayed here with our kids (ages 10-21) and the whole family loved it! The resort was clean, well kept, had beautiful views around every corner. The thermal springs are both easy to get to and tucked away and despite the busy tourism week, never felt overcrowded. ”

“It was so beautiful and Alvaro’s kindness and graciousness as a host made it even more memorable! We had wonderful adventures in the La Fortuna area and to be able to have some “down time” on the dreamy balcony was so rejuvenating. We’d highly recommend staying here!”

“Bellissimo albergo immerso nella natura con una vista stupenda sul vulcano Arenal. Camere spaziose pulite con ogni tipo di confort, bagno davvero particolare con piante e rocce vere! La cascata nel bagno (oltre alla doccia) e la vasca idromassaggio privata in terrazza sono davvero fantastiche. Piscina bellissima (riscaldata di sera) davvero rilassante con seggiolini del bar immersi nell'acqua dove puoi sorseggiare un cocktail immerso nelle acque del vulcano. “I cannot say enough about our stay here. The owner helped my friend picking herbs and making a tea to settle her stomach. They ensured we had enough towels and checked in daily with us. Theu staff were very helpful. They have just added 2 new rooms and the views aroind the property were perfect. There is a swinging bridge you walk over to get to breakfast in the morning and they follow their schedule it was perfect and i am already planning my next visit back”

“The hotel is clean , staff is nice, it is close to arenal national park, Tabacon hot springs, awuwaki (sushi), Raman restaurant, el novillo restaurant, the problem is we are given the room #1 which happens to be room with large gap between the door and its frame on both the top and bottom, we see bugs inside the room. After talking with the front desk, we were able to switch to a different room , room 14 which is clean with great view of the arenal, I would recommend the hotel but not room #1”

“Our stay at Hotel Lavas Tacotal was overall a really enjoyable experience, with a few areas that could be improved. The highlights were definitely the incredible views of Arenal Volcano — waking up to that scenery was unreal. “Thoroughly enjoyed this resort, our home for 6 days. Not pretentious, truly authentic beauty. All staff were not only accommodating, but felt like friends, Joaquin, Luis, Jorge, Fernando, Leah and Justin, to name a few. Large rooms, excellent housekeeping, and restaurant had great options, some excellent ones. Could use more selection in cocktails for all inclusive. “The staff was very friendly. We had a family of 5 and we were able to upgrade to the house upon arrival which gave us a lot more room. There wasn't any A/C but there were ample fans to help with the heat. The kitchen was open air so we did get a few critters and mosquitos inside at night but nothing dangerous. The breakfast was very good and we ordered dinner there one night and it was delicious. The property is small so it felt very private, felt safe and the view of Arenal Volcano was amazing.”
