Staying in Maria's "Forget me not" apartment was a pure joy from start to finish. Maria was extremely prompt and clear in all her correspondence and was able to be flexible with many things. She sends you a wonderful guide to area with all her personal picks ahead of arrival..was very helpful. This apartment is right on the coastal road slightly west of Chania. It's a residential area with a few restaurants and supermarkets and is relatively quiet. From almost every room of apartment you can observe the sea. Very light and attractively furnished with high quality furniture, linens and kitchen appliances and dishes/cutlery. Maria stocks all the necessary things one needs while on vacation but would prefer not to purchase (eg. paper towel, toilet paper, coffee, tea, sugar, spices, olive oil, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent., hand soap, cling wrap,trash bags etc). Upon arrival, we received a huge welcome arrangement of local honey, raki, mountain tea, wine, fresh fruit, local biscuits and sweets, and bottled water. Total bonus was the home made meal prepared by her mother that was there for us to enjoy after traveling all day. So delicious and so thoughtful!! All towels are provided (bath and beach) and are high quality. There is a ridiculous amount of closet space! I wish I had at home! There's an integrated laundry line off the back terrace that is very convenient. This house was spotlessly clean and somehow smells beautiful too, not like most typical coastal properties which can have that humid mildewy aspect all too often. It's spacious, comfortable,and ready to be enjoyed...it's really one of the best places we have ever stayed ...our family of four only rent vacation homes/apartments as opposed to hotels , so have stayed in many over the years. We have discerning tastes and fairly high expectations (I couldn't fault one thing in this apartment, which is rare for me). This place was top notch. Highly recommended.
