“We were really looking forward to the hot tub and it was the main reason we booked this place. When we looked at it, it was cloudy and dirty. We later found out it was broken. We ended up not staying either of the two nights we booked here. It seems fair to get a some refund since the hot tub was broken.”

The view from the common area where you can enjoy the healthy breakfast that Rick and Katy provide is peaceful. The veranda is a perfect place to watch the two goats playing in the yard. “This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar.
