Hotel vicino a Hoyt Park - Saginaw

“Rarely does one feel they have been welcomed as if they had "come home" to a hotel or Bed & Breakfast. I have stayed in a few grander historic hotels, but never felt so at home as when my son and I stayed a few mights at The Montague Inn. It is a lovely, beautifully maintained mansion from the 1930s, almost immaculately clean, with charming and comfortable guest rooms, sitting areas, patios and gardens. “Funny that the description on Google maps says this hotel is "modern". The room was straight out of the 70s. Not intentionally. Everything was old and tired. There was a stain from a burned cigarette on the edge of the tub. The desk's finish was all worn and the carpet was old and needed to be cleaned. The staff was nice, but this place could uses a serious cleaning and update to the rooms and amenities.”

“We booked what we thought was a two queen pool side room like we had two years ago. The outdoor portion of the pool is now filled in and pool side rooms no longer exist but the pics on the website and on Expedia still show the outdoor pool. A regular two queen room was at least $25 less per night than the two queen pool side we had. It’s very misleading.”

“We stayed for multiple days. Housekeeping comes every other day. On the day they were supposed to clean our room, they emptied the trash, replaced our towels and halfway made one bed. We asked the front desk if they could revisit our room the next day and they ignored our request.”

“The room we stayed in was 101. Walked in the door to discover an odor that I can only describe as unpleasant. The carper was filthy. My wife got out of the shower and walked to the bed and found her feet were dirty, like she'd been walking on the beach. No Kleenex in the room, only 1 bar of soap to share between the sink and the shower. (The vanity was across the entry way from the toilet/shower room) Complained to the desk during check out and got very little response, let alone a refund....

We booked this motel at the last minute for a one-night stay in Saginaw this past weekend, based on price point and reading all the reviews online. The reviews were completely inaccurate. At check-in, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude; we apparently interrupted her by checking in (at 3:00 in the afternoon). We paid our $70 and got our key, and she waved us onto our room. “Very small rooms in this old-fashioned roadside motel. Some cosmetic upgrades have taken place but there's only so much you can do for an old cinder block building. The biggest problem was heat. It's radiant heat with no way to control it. They have a fake thermostat for a central air furnace on the wall, but it does nothing. It's March and the only way to get the heat below 80 is to leave windows open! Doesn't feel to safe leaving ground level windows open. We were roasting hot. We also...

“Everything was great. The rooms are very nice, and the beds are big and comfortable. What I liked the most about the room was that it had a mini fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The pool is nice, and there is a jacuzzi as well. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed many other amenities too. I would definitely recommend this place.”

“The staff was helpful and friendly. Having said that, I think that the owners were saving costs by skimping on the cleaning staff and budget. The hotel was not well maintained, and is in need of a good deep clean.”

“First and foremost the staff was exceptional. All helpful and checking in if we needed anything anytime we saw someone. Drink vouchers and buffet was an added perk we were not expecting. Walking distance to shops and other fun places. Short drive to boat ramp and Bronners. I recommend staying there as I would stay there again.”
