Hotel vicino a Iowa State Fairgrounds - Des Moines

“The rooms were nasty, shower sprayed water everywhere when you turn it on, we were eaten up by bugs, kids too. The elevator reeked of animal urine, microwave didnt work and although we got a smoke free room it still reeked of cigarettes. The tub didnt plug properly for kids to bathe. Had to clean the shower myself cause drains and shower head had sticky black stuff caked all over. Bedding was stained with what looked like neon pink marker, and some bodily fluid, that looked like dry blood or...

“The good: pool, hot tub, breakfast and comfy bed. The bad: The room itself wasn't super clean with a couple of pieces of trash on the floor. The shower had hair from previous stay on the walls. The bottle for conditioner was empty and smashed and the one for shampoo was completely missing. (Attatched pics) I told the front desk and they gave me 3 tint bottles of shampoo/conditioner mixed. Not enough for 4 people with very long hair. She didn't refill or replace the bottles. The part if the lock...

“Hotel and room was dated, but overall the same good amenities that you get at other Embassy suite hotels. The pillows were oddly small and the pull out bed was old, kids had a difficult night sleeping on springs pushing out of mattress. Overall everything was good.”
