“Let me preface this by saying that Cheeca Lodge WAS always the place to stay. This time, not so much. I booked this stay for a birthday weekend getaway (my boyfriend had never been to Islamorada) and it was extremely disappointing. I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades the day before and the day of our check in (seeing as how it was a special occassion) and was told no, unless I wanted to pay more money and upgrade my room to one of a bigger size.
