“The staff was phenomenal. Even at check in the front desk person told me my floor but not my room for safety as to not announce my room number out loud which I really appreciated especially traveling with small children. He went above and beyond when I needed an extra blanket and even let me pick mine out. I got 3 hours away and realized I left my Apple Watch in the room, called back and they put it in the safe for me! ”

But when we booked Expedia showed that allowed cats and dogs and this Windgate is Steubenville OH did take cats in Dec 2025 when we stayed there. but I called the day prior to our reservation, and they said they did not take cats since things have changed. “The room was big with very comfortable beds. The shower had great water pressure and was easy to use. The lobby was spacious and welcoming and the work out room was equipped with everything I needed.”

“Not sure why this place has such a high rating. Besides the front desk lady being really this place fell very short on expectations. The wifi was very bad and spotty, so forget trying to do any work here. The cell signal at this place is horrible. The rooms and the hotel overall appearance needs a whole new facelift. Last but not least the breakfest was horrible. The only thing that was good was the apple and orange juice. I will not be coming back here. ”

“Clean room, staff were friendly and helpful despite working nonstop during snowstorm. They were constantly working to clear out snow with just shovel and broom. I saw them after greeting guests they jumped right out to clear snow. What a hard working folks that night when we pulled in. ”

“We appreciated the space and updates to the room. The room was clean and loved the updates to the bathroom. We would definitely choose this hotel again. The breakfast was as expected with the usual cold and hot items. My only criticism is that the beds are a bit firm, pillows were flat, and the sink didn’t drain well, but I’ve stayed at worse places. ”
