“We received a wonderful warm welcome and the same level of friendly hospitality throughout our stay. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the company of locals in the pub. We thoroughly recommend this as place to stay, eat or just have a drink in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. ”

“The location is magnificent, this is such a stunning part of devon, and you walk out the door basically onto the beach! The room was beautiful, with colour and texture and charm. the only slight against it was the only parking is the public carpark nextdoor so about £10 per day, but thats not much of a gripe in the scheme of things and they were super dog friendly. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. ”

“The staff were wonderful, and the location can't be beat. We unwound each night with a half-pint on the beautiful terrace that is set along the riverbank. The building is a lovely old hodge-podge of levels. We were at the top of it, which involves a stairs-climb that could be hard for some. There is ample parking (very welcome!). “The Anchor Inn is an absolute gem! The rooms are a good size and well-appointed, if perhaps a little dated. Super friendly and accommodating staff, nothing was too much trouble. The real surprise was the restaurant. I would recommend trying out the food, even if you're not staying at the Inn. The food was locally sourced, all fresh and well prepared and presented.
