The Space:

Papa's Place occupies Unit 102 of the historic Old Saint Vincent — a fully renovated 1900s brick building in the heart of downtown Leadville. 621 sq ft, 14-ft ceilings, exposed original brick, corner fireplace under original fixtures.

Sectional seating, corner electric fireplace, Smart TV (Netflix + HBO), record player with vinyl collection. Tall historic windows, abundant natural light under 14-ft ceilings.

Full kitchen — dishwasher, oven, stovetop, full-size fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. Cookware, dishware, and utensils stocked for cooking for 2 or 4.

Counter-height dining for 4 plus a dedicated workspace with strong Wi-Fi.

You have the entire 1-bedroom unit to yourself — please make yourself at home.



Check-in is self-service via a keypad. After you book, we'll email you a link to our digital guidebook with your access code and building entry instructions — watch for that email before you arrive. If you don't see it, check spam or message us through VRBO and we'll resend.



Parking: One off-street spot is included with the unit. Additional vehicles can park on the street nearby.



The Neighborhood:

Papa's Place sits three blocks from Harrison Avenue — Leadville's Main Street — with walking access to the town's restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and historic sites. The Mineral Belt Trail, an 11.6-mile paved loop around the historic mining district, starts one block from the front door.



Leadville itself sits at 10,152 ft — the highest incorporated city in North America — surrounded by more 14,000-ft peaks than anywhere else in the Rockies. 360-degree mountain views from the neighborhood.

Getting Around:

A car is recommended. Downtown Leadville is fully walkable from Papa's Place, but the ski areas, Turquoise Lake, and 14er trailheads all require a short drive. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is minimal and unreliable here — plan to drive or pre-book any transport.



Airports:

• Denver International (DEN): ~2 hours

• Eagle County (EGE): ~1 hour

• Aspen (ASE): ~2 hr 15 min (summer only; Independence Pass closes in winter)



From I-70, take Exit 195 and follow Highway 91 south over Fremont Pass. Plowed year-round .

For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.



No pets — Old Saint Vincent HOA rules do not permit pets in the building.



Smoke-free — no smoking in the unit, stairways, entryways, or anywhere on the building exterior.



Parking: One off-street spot per unit. No RVs, boats, or trailers. Additional vehicles park on the street.



No elevator: Historic building — all access is via stairs. Factor this in if traveling with an infant, small children, or mobility limitations.



Baseboard heaters: Electric baseboard heaters run along the walls and get hot to the touch. Supervise young children accordingly.



Winter temperatures: Historic building with original windows. No central heat — on the coldest winter nights it can feel cool. The corner fireplace, a space heater, and extra blankets are provided. Bring layers December through February.



Altitude: Leadville sits above 10,000 ft. Some guests experience headaches, dizziness, or fatigue — drink extra water, go easy on alcohol your first night, consider travel insurance.
