“I had an issue with the drain in my shower not draining properly and after reporting the issue a 2nd time it was attended to and fixed. The staff are always friendly.”

Lovely 1920s building, helpful staff, attractive bar, good location for many sites and on a number of bus routes (Canberra is not a very pedestrian-friendly city). Only quibble would be that, as one of the, possibly the, leading hotel(s) in the Commonwealth capital, a wider selection of Australian wines, and notably some from the smaller wine regions (for example, Beechworth, VIC) could be available.”

“I traveled for business, but the room didn't have a suitable chair to work at the desk/bench from. It was no problem getting one. Parking is good and is a reliable place to stay.”

“The property location was excellent but the cleanliness of the room was very poor. The headboard, couch, and carpet were all stained. The sheet had a small tear in it. The wardrobe had a pile of dust, and the bathroom floor under the vanity hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Room 111.”

“Nice size family room, however needs more attention to detail in the room. Ie our room was missing pans to cook, the hair dryer was broken, missing a few glasses. Also our room wasn't cleaned despite putting the sign up asking for a clean. However the location was really good, right next to restaurants, fast food, shopping, public transport, rooms were clean. The help yourself cupboard for supplies ie teas, milk, towels etc is a great idea!”

“The room felt muggy in spite of turning down the temperature and opening windows, we could not sleep. Soon after arrival there was loud drilling next door as they did repairs, then a strange man knocked on the door because he wanted to check our toilet for "stickers." The breakfast was a huge disappointment. We stayed here some years ago and remembered it as great but alas it is now the same wet eggs and soggy bacon you can get anywhere. “A top notch experience for our four night stay in a one bedroom apt at East Hotel in Canberra. Underground parking was a key consideration for our stay and it worked well ($20 a night). Very pleasant and helpful staff and a great restaurant (Italian) downstairs where we had both breakfast and dinner a couple of times. Fast wifi. “Constant power outages , club staff at the time were rude and overheard them complaining about my call to them , talking to reception. Completely taken out of context to make them feel justified to whinge about it. Was appalled at that club staffer. Did not enter the club that visit.”
