1. Independence Inn

Strafford

“The Inn is very special and we definitely enjoyed staying in there. Although we did not have a chance to meet them in person, the host have been very responsive to our enquiries during our stay. There are some flaws which could be easily be corrected. The freshness of the breakfast food should be better monitored and the room does not have a hair dryer. May be also a good idea to have the small kitchen on the same floor as the dining tables.”

4. Emerson Inn

Rockport

“It’s a cool older hotel but I was expecting more from the fabulous reviews I saw. The staff was polite but not warm or friendly. The bathroom was a bit dated and we were initially only provided one set of towels. A guest left a cocktail on the wall outside and it was there all 3 days we were. It was pretty far away from everything. I think it would be nice during warmer weather but it was a bit of a disappointment for us.”

5. Lovely Waterfront Suite near Portsmouth

Dover

“I already was familiar with the location as I lived in the area for over 20 years. The hostess Andra was amazing - fresh baked muffins, she was available when needed for any needs- even provided me with microwave popcorn! The location is right on Great Bay, lovely views - and amazing gardens surrounding the location. The bed was extremely comfortable (major in my mind) and the decor induces relaxation. If stairs are an issue, you may need to consider this in your decision. That said I...
