“There is a large car park but it can get busy at peak times. Register your car at the bar. Our fourth visit in the last year. We like it. Staff, food, atmosphere and location. There are a few maintenance issues that could be addressed, e.g. dripping taps, shower door off runners and touch up of decor in places. We expect to return.”

“I recently stayed here for a training event. The facilities were generally ok and the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was good. Some parts of the property do feel a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The main issue I had was with the shower in my room, which had no cold water at all and was boiling hot. Unfortunately, I only discovered this in the morning, so there wasn’t really time for it to be fixed before I had to leave.”

“Great atmosphere. Staff very efficient. Clean and tidy room and cleaned when we went out. Food amazing . Our family got together because of bereavement in the immediate area and we all stayed at there The Lion Hotel. It enabled us to get together and concentrate on our family. Couldn’t asked for anything more. Excellent!”

“We had a fabulous 2 night stay here. The room was nicely decorated, comfy beds and great shower. The spa facilities are wonderful and extensive - 3 types of sauna, steam and aroma room as well as the thermal mineral pool, relaxation pool and the rooftop indoor to outdoor pool with jacuzzi jets - heaven!! The breakfast is a cut above and we ate dinner one night which was expensive but absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend The Buxton Crescent for a luxury stay.”
