“I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.”

“Unit was clean, tidy, a little dated but in good condition. Conveniently located, helpful staff. The clincher for us is the dog-friendly classification allowing us to take with us our beloved black Labrador. The one thing that would lift the unit to 5 stars would be a heat pump/air conditioning. We shall certainly book again. ”

“Rooms need a good clean . No hand towels for use in shared bathroom. Garbage upstairs was not taken out we were their two days. Needs a bit of modernizing . Has charm and history could be a real busy little boutique . All the doors and windows need some oil . Might help prevent guests from being woken up. Great location.”

“This motel was very average. Although it’s clearly had a paint job in the last few years it really needed some maintenance done. The shower leaked badly & could really do with a decent clean. Reception didn’t appear to have anyone there at anytime, so getting clean towels etc was hard work. The only thing it had going for it was a comfortable bed!”
