The apartment was uninhabitable during our stay. Indoor temperatures remained in the low 60s while outside temperatures were in the 20s. We repeatedly had to request that the building heat be turned on and were left waiting in a cold apartment while it slowly warmed.
The windows were poorly insulated, allowing significant cold drafts throughout the unit. Only one small electric heater was provided for two bedrooms, and it was insufficient to adequately warm even a single room.
We requested an additional heater multiple times and received no response. Days later, management said they could come to the apartment to “fix” the issue, but there was nothing to fix. The solution was simply to keep the heat on consistently or provide another heater. Neither was done, and I became ill due to repeated cold nights.
Maintaining a safe indoor temperature is a basic responsibility of property ownership. This accommodation did not meet reasonable expectations for comfort or Expedia/VRBO standards for a habitable listing given the winter weather. No remedy was offered, and management dismissed the issue by saying no one else had complained. I strongly recommend reconsidering booking this property.
