A lovely historic building in the centre of Pisa giving a authentic Tuscan feel. We stayed in one of the Junior suites giving an extra room and sitting area. The decor is old but it is part of the character of the hotel and as it should be, with beautiful painted ceilings and original features. We had some difficulty getting the shower to work with the hot water, but the staff were helpful in explaining and checking it for us. There was noise from people in the street outside but mostly the use of ear plugs was enough to block it out but on the last night we were there the students and tourists all seemed to be out drinking until late and we were kept awake for a while.
We found the central location very convenient, as we were right in the city close to shops, restaurants and bars and also close to the river for evening walks. The leaning tower and field of miracles were easily reached on foot and we were close to the station and went by train to Florence and Lucca- we would recommend both of these visits.
There was a good choice of hot and cold food for breakfast, including bread, jams, cold meats, croissants, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurts and cake with coffee and fruit juice. There was also an area where you could sit at other times to have a drink (we had the area in our room to sit so didn't use it).
The room had a kettle, hairdryer and minibar/fridge & safe.Ve
Overall we were very happy with our stay and would be happy to stay there again if we returned to Pisa
