Not what we were expecting

The property itself was ok, but we had a hard finding the unit upon arrival. From the online listing, we were expecting more of an ocean front unit, but this unit was in the back of the complex next to the street. Taking a shower, the first time was a pain because we didn't know that you had to let the water run for 10mins before you could get any hot water. Kayaking was listed as a nearby activity, but no one at the complex could tell us where to rent a kayak. The hotel across the lagoon had loud events that lasted well past midnight, so sleeping with the doors open was not an option. Some pool floats would also have been nice for pool and lagoon use. If not for the warm weather, this stay would have been a total bust.

Excellent vacation

The property was very well appointed. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. The building is very well maintained and the location is great. We had a wonderful time.

Wonderful unit in lovely Puerto Aventuras

This unit is really wonderful and we loved our week in PA. The condo has everything you need and more -- well-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, plenty of towels for beach and indoor use, nice amount of space, view of the ocean, reliable wifi, comfortable beds, and loads of options for eating outdoors. We were truly sad to leave. The common spaces are also really really nice -- beautiful pool and a workout room with weights that we used several times. Note that the shore is rocky, which my kids enjoyed exploring, and the "beach" is a very short walk around the lagoon to the hotel-side of the water. Not a big deal, but when we were there, the seaweed was pretty dense which made swimming in the lagoon less attractive than swimming in the ocean in front of the hotel. Just FYI on the layout of the grounds. Also good to know that you are very close to several big hotels / all-inclusives. There are good things about this (ie these big establishments mean that an independent dive shop exists on the beach from which you can leave for a snorkel trip), but there are also down-sides to this (ie some nights there was music to about 10/11 pm, or mid-day Zumba or something happening across the lagoon.) For us, not a big deal but good to understand the lay of the land. Also about the condo complex - We met some really nice expat retirees pool-side who are either owners or long-term renters. It was great to get tips of the area from them, where to eat dinner in town, etc. Overall, great stay and we would come back for sure!

Lovely holiday and activity residence

We absolutely loved staying at Quinta Luna! This is an extremely well-kept, exclusive and peaceful place to spend a vacation in. We spent Christmas and New Year's at Quinta Luna and felt like home. The apartment/villa is modern, spacious and tastefully furnished and designed. The kitchen is well-equipped and perfect for cooking together. The balcony is generous and offers some shade when it's warm. We watched the sunset from there and also the stars at night. I loved to watch the sunrise from the pool area - it's magnificent! There is a little gym in the residence which we used and the pool is wonderful. The private beach area is child-friendly and you can go swimming in the lagoon even when the wind is strong, since the break-water protects it from the strong waves. There are several stores and restaurants nearby, only 10 minutes walk away. If you like you can order home delivery. There are guards at the gate entrance to Puerto Aventura and along the roads inside the residential area. Quinta Luna residences also has its own night guard, so we felt perfectly safe all the time. The neighbourhood is calm and quiet. Our family loves acitivities and we went fishing with guides, snorkeling in cenotes and also with a guide from a boat. The coral reef along the coast is in many places breathtaking, so bring a mask and fins if you like swimming! If you like golfing you find a nice golf court within this enclosed area. If you like sightseeing there are many places to visit, especially ancient Mayan temples. We can also recommend visits to Tulum, Akumal, Playa del Carmen and of course a boat trip to Cozumel. Rent a "Mexican Ferrari" there and drive around the island - don't forget your snorkeling gear! The reefs around the island are teeming with fish and colours. Our contact with the owner has been good from the start. She answers all our questions quickly and everything has run smoothly all the time. The staff at Quinta Luna residences is friendly and helpful. If we ever consider going back to Mexico again we would love to stay at Quinta Luna once more - all four in our family highly recommend this villa. Absolutely Wonderful!

I would have to rate this visit a 10+. The villa was beautiful and felt like a resort villa. It had all the utensils in case you wanted to cook a meal for your family and was very relaxing. It had 2 balconies for eating, reading or having happy hour with a cocktail and the sunset. The pool and grounds were very well manicured and the private beach was awesome The staff was so accommodating and helpful..

Great condo with all you need !!!

The condo is so well furnished... you feel like home!!!... the kitchen has great appliances like "nutri-bullet"... slow cooker for rice... good pots and pans...etc The pool area is perfect to relax and enjoy seaview Puerto Aventuras is a perfect place to relax.

A quiet but beautiful location . Well appointed apartment.

We had a very relaxing stay in this spacious and well equipped apartment. Superbly comfortable beds with plenty of bath and beach towels. The large balcony gave us views over the lagoon and beach (can't see the pool). The pool was spotlessly clean with easy access steps at both ends and a small shallow section for little people. Main pool was probably 1.5m max. The owners who were staying in their apartments were very friendly and we were were able to gather local knowledge from them while bobbing around the pool. Plenty of sun beds and palapas to go round. The best bit is the lagoon where you can safely snorkel in calm, fairly shallow water watching a fantastic array of fish. The 'sea wall' was a great place to look for fossilized coral and hermit crabs. Expect a little bit of amplified music and noise from the All-Inclusive over the bay but this was not too intrusive and never went on late at night. The friendly staff kept the shared areas and grounds impeccably clean. The apartments are a little way from the main marina where the restaurants and shops are so be prepared for a hot and sticky 20 minute walk or rent a golf buggy, bike or car. What little traffic there is drives slowly and courteously. There is a large supermarket just off the highway near the entrance to the Community that is open till late and on Sundays. The OXXO convenience store in the Marina is also pretty good. We spent a few pleasant evenings eating in a range of restaurants in the marina and at lunch times you can sit and watch the dolphins. I would recommend La Caleta, the first restaurant you come to , for breakfast and dinner. They do a great burger! This is perfect if you want a quiet, private villa feel to a holiday with the opportunity to meet a few other residents or holiday makers. Our children were very pleased to share the pool with another family for a few days but they sometimes had the pool to themselves.

Double Booked Condo, Never Reached Out To Correct

It is with deep regret that I write a negative review. The morning of our check-in date Kathleen notified me that we would be able to drop off our belongings at the condo prior to check in. When we knocked on the door, I expected a cleaning person to answer but instead another couple answered the door saying that they have the room booked through nearly the entire time of our booking. They informed us that the owner of this VRBO has done this in the past as they have been regular guests. Luckily, our own resources and that of a few staff members on the property were able to save us from being without lodging on our vacation by arranging for another unit in the same building for us. Despite several phone calls and emails the owner of VRBO listing never followed up, answered or made clear to us that our situation had been resolved. During the 4 days we were concerned that she would try to charge us additional fees. I will be working activly to get a full refund as the uncertainty of our lodging from the moment we arrived until we left cast a shadow on what was an otherwise wonderful vacation at a great complex. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the lack of accountability or correction was extremely upsetting. Book at your own risk.

Fantastic vacation stay

We had a great month long vacation in Kathleen's place. The apartment is very cozy well equipped and modern. The terrace is big with fantastic ocean view. Restaurants are a walk away to downtown P. Aventuras and there are some convenient stores to do small shopping. We rented a car since we stayed for so long and P. Aventuras is well located with Playa del Carmen and Tulum located close by. Overall, we had a very nice family time in Puerto Aventuras. I would highly recommend to anybody to stay here.

Fantastic Location and Place

Kathleen's place was a joy to stay at. I started each day with coffee looking out over the lovely lagoon, jumping in to swim among the many fish, rinsing off under the outdoor shower and then relaxing in the pool. If this sounds good to you, this is your spot. The staff was fantastic, I particularly enjoyed my morning conversations with Pedro as he cleaned the pool, but everyone was smiling and friendly. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks Kathleen!

Relaxing, beautiful, quiet, and convenient to shopping and sight seeing.

We loved our stay at Quinta Luna 101! The pictures don't do the condo justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We like the Puerto Aventuras community. It's quiet and friendly and I like the idea of the gates in front to get in and out. It is so close and convenient to shopping, restaurants, and sight-seeing. The beach is so private and pretty, and we loved the lagoon and pool. We really loved watching the sunrise almost every morning. The view from the balcony is amazing. It was easy to find and we got there a little early and were able to leave our luggage in the condo. We met the maid and she was so nice and made sure we felt welcome. We have been coming to the Riviera Maya for nearly 10 years and this was our favorite place so far. We definitely want to come back really soon. Thank you, Kathleen for sharing your beautiful place with us.
