“Very well decorated with a super cool ‘vibe’. Bed was amazingly comfortable! Really nice extras (coffee and maker, all utensils, etc) and super nice appliances! Nice private and shared sitting area with fire table. Took the bikes (they were a little tired). Nice location, close to Carlsbad and Oceanside. Would stay again if in the area!”

“So I really love this property as it is very close to both the beach and Carlsbad Village. Scandia Motel is cute but could use some upgrades and a thorough cleaning. I have stayed here twice (due to location and price) however it needs to be painted and cleaned. The floors are filthy (do not go barefoot) and the shower was not clean at all and had long hairs all over the place. “Air conditioner broken. Maintenance gone home for the day. Pool closed. 1st floor smelled like urine. Loud freeway noise, the hotel was extremely close to the freeway. Breakfast was barely warm coffee and instant oatmeal.”

“I was put in a handicapped room , it was fine but not mentioned when I asked if I can check in early. Had I known I would have waited for a regular room on a higher level where the noise in the hallway wouldn’t have been so loud. ”
