1. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: THE COLOSSEUM
The Colosseum
We do not believe that a presentation is needed to declare the Colosseum as the most important and well-known monument in Rome, so much so that it has become the symbol of the city itself. Unesco heritage and one of the new seven wonders of the world, the Colosseum stands in the heart of Rome with its over 3,000 square meters of surface and 48 meters in height. It is possible to enter and visit it by paying a ticket.
TO DO: buy the ticket online and avoid the long lines.
THE PHOTO: climb the hill between the Arch of Trajan the Colosseum and take a nice selfie. Be careful not to disturb the couples who just got married ...
2. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: THE PANTHEON
The Pantheon
The great Michelangelo defined the Pantheon as "the work of angels and not of men". Majestic, of a rare beauty and form, it is located in the heart of Rome, a few steps from Piazza Navona. Entry is free.
When you visit it, you cannot fail to notice by looking up at the large "oculus", an immense hole that is located in the center of the dome and which legend has it was created by the devil fleeing from the temple of God.
WHAT TO DO: stand in the center and look up, possibly keeping your mouth closed.
THE PHOTO: stand in the center of the square behind the fountain in Piazza della Rotonda and ... you will have so much fun.
3. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: THE IMPERIAL FORUMS
Imperial Forum
The Imperial Forums represent one of the most recognized archaeological and historical areas in the world. Walking among the remains of an empire that once was is a bit like a walk in history. Located between the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia, the Imperial Forums are one of the points of interest most loved by tourists.
TO DO: walk with taste, looking at the left and right at the same time trying not to miss even a small stone from the Roman era.
THE PHOTO: get to the bottom of the Imperial Forums on the Piazza Venezia side, turn around (you will have the Vittoriano complex behind you) and have fun taking photos of the Forums with the Colosseum in the background. A tip: if you can take shots at night.
4. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: BASILICA DI SAN PIETRO
Saint Peter's Church
Let's talk about the largest church in the world! It is really difficult to decide whether it is more beautiful inside or out. Bramante, Raffaello, Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, Peruzzi, Michelangelo. Especially Michelangelo with his piety, one of his best works.
TO DO: climb the dome to admire one of the most beautiful views of the eternal city.
THE PHOTO: stand 30-40 meters behind the obelisk in St. Peter's square and from there photograph the splendid facade of the Basilica.
5. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: SISTINE CHAPEL AND VATICAN MUSEUMS
The Sistine Chapel
If we think of the Sistine Chapel we cannot fail to mention Michelangelo Buonarroti: 10 years he employed the great master to finish the frescoes. The Sistine Chapel is located inside the Vatican Museums.
WHAT TO DO: on your visit to the Vatican museums, we recommend that you give priority to Michelangelo's masterpiece and then "move on" to the other works.

6. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: VILLA AND BORGHESE GALLERY
Villa Borghese
If it is not the most loved park by the Romans, we are close to it. Green, art and fun enclosed in 80 hectares, what more could you want? You can decide to take a nice walk or enter the Borghese Gallery and discover the works of Tiziano, Raffaello and Caravaggio, take your children to the Bioparco or to the “Casina di Raffaello” playroom or visit the many restaurants and cinemas.

7. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: TREVI FOUNTAIN
The Trevi Fountain
Made immortal by the "Dolce vita" of Fellini the Trevi fountain is still today one of the most visited destinations by tourists. It is a true masterpiece of architecture, sculpture and engineering. In the center you will find the figure of Ocean, then the statues representing Health and Prosperity and finally the two horses that ideally identify the stormy sea (left) and calm (right).
TO DO: toss a dime. Popular tradition says that only after this gesture will it be possible to fulfill the desire to return to Rome.
THE PHOTO: go down the small staircase, arrive in the front row waiting patiently for your turn and take photos at will. Selfies come out particularly well ...
8. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: VITTORIANO AND PIAZZA VENEZIA
The Vittoriano in Piazza Venezia
Piazza Venezia is located in the middle of the Roman tourist crossroads: between the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums on one side and via del Corso and via Nazionale on the other. If you have time, visit the Vittoriano which for majesty, cultural and historical importance represents the symbol of Italy for the past two centuries.
TO DO: go up to the terrace of the Vittoriano and admire closely the two quadrigas of the homeland and freedom.
THE PHOTO: head towards the center of the square, paying attention to the cars (!!), center yourself as much as possible in line with the Victorian and you will have beautiful souvenir photos.
9. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: PIAZZA NAVONA
Piazza Navona
Beautiful, relaxing and full of interesting things to see: from the baroque of the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone built by Borromini to the fountain of the four rivers created by Bernini, from Palazzo Pamphilj to the fountains of Moor and Neptune.
TO DO: visit it during the Christmas days when the square is filled with markets and joy gushes from all the cobblestones.
THE PHOTO: the must is the photo of the Rio della Plata statue that defends itself from the imminent fall of the church of Sant'Agnese. It is a joke that Bernini made against Borromini.
10. WHAT TO SEE IN ROME: PIAZZA DI SPAGNA
La barcaccia and in the background the staircase of Trinità dei Monti
Piazza di Spagna is probably one of the most famous squares in the world. It's hard not to get excited admiring the splendid staircase of Trinità dei Monti or sitting on the edges of the Barcaccia.
There is also for lovers of English poetry, thanks to the museums of Keats and Shelley, as well as for those of shopping thanks to the nearby via dei Condotti and via del Corso.
WHAT TO DO: sit on the steps of Trinità dei Monti and watch the world go by.

ARRIVAL FIUMICINO AIRPORT:
this is the main Rome Airport. From there is quite easy to reach the flat. You have to get the train to Orte-Fara Sabina (NOT the Leonardo Express to Roma Termini), usually from the track number 3 but check this out (ticket: > 8,- Euro, buy it at official Trenitalia vendors or ticket machines or Tobacconist). The trip takes around 30' minutes, 8 stops to Roma Ostiense (Fiumicino Airport then: - Parco Leonardo - Fiera di Roma - Ponte Galeria -Muratella - Magliana - Villa Bonelli- Trastevere - Roma Ostiense). > > When out from the train station (direction Piazzale dei Partigiani, walk towards track number 1). When out and facing the big plaza (Piazzale) go left along via della Stazione Ostiense, the second street on the right is via Francesco Carletti (we are located at bulding number 1) all this take just 5 minutes walking, The ringbell is Cauli
