“Family stay visiting the Jurassic coast region this cottage is a little way set back from the coast but in a quiet rural location .We visited Whitby , Robin Hood Bay and Scarborough . Cottage is clean and comfortable , with everything you need in kitchen . A very well maintained garden and lovely outlook over farmland . ”

“Staff and bar was brill. Really friendly and welcoming. The shepherds huts were great like posh camping.”

“We loved our stay here. They are in the middle of renovations and we paid for a cheaper room that hadn't been renovated fully yet. We were a little worried it would be grotty or quite dated since the pictures on the website for those rooms weren't great, but the rooms were actually pretty nice. The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are amazing with breathtaking views. The restaurant is great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Also it's lovely to see all the birds about the property...

“What a great find, lovely friendly pub with rooms. Room was spotless as the whole premises. Couldn't fault the evening meal or the breakfast ( probably the best we have had for some time. We will definitely revisit.”

“Good location and just outside Whitby town with easily accessible bus stops. Free car parking for guest. Food typical chain and overpriced and under taste. Room decent size but no lounging chairs. Tv not smart and too small. No fridge. Bed very uncomfortable. Shower over bath and shower curtain. Not for me.”

“I couldn't have picked a better place to stay – this hotel is in the perfect location! Whether I was heading out to explore the hubbub or grab a bite at nearby restaurants, everything was just outside the door. The room was stylish, with little touches that make a stay feel special. The decor was fresh and the space was laid out really well. The staff were helpful and friendly. I’d definitely stay here again.”

“Parking space very small to the point my husband had to climb over to the passenger side to exit the car. Rear entrance very grotty. Flat itself was ok and clean but small double bed lumpy and uncomfortable. Bedroom also very hot and stuffy. Good use of a small space though and well equipped ”

“Ho passato una notte in questo ostello e decisamente lo raccomando sia per la sua suggestiva location che per la particolare atmsfera dell'ambiente che lo circonda. Davvero un posto particolare. Trattandosi di un ostello i servizi sono adeguati allo standard della struttura. Ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo. Ma , ripeto, il pezzo forte e' la posizione a fianco delle rovine dell'Abbazia che dominano la cittadina. Non lo consiglio a chi ama pernottare in centro citta' o in luoghi affollati e...

“Furniture and fittings very antiquated. Bedding very old and worn, bed linen did not look clean and fresh. Bathroom shower looks as if mould growing around base, not hot water to the basin, towels very worn and ruff. Breakfast very poor, left on landing to help yourself, cereal and fruit only not worth the payment charged. Parking not easy and very limited particularly for the larger car. Expedia stated only one room left that clearly was not the situation. Definitely not value for money.”

“I was there for a 60’s weekend so didn’t use the facilities much. The rooms were fine but bathroom was tired What I expected in a hotel this old. A lot of renovations going on on the outside and a new lift has been installed so money is being invested. Staff were all lovely On a hilly location so need plenty stamina”

“I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world without ever making comment but this time I will. It is quintessentially Yorkshire charming. The location is also great for walking into town. Parking is easy and the staff are so very helpful.”
