I would have given this property an excellent rating until our final night’s experience. Our family enjoyed a beautiful week soaking up the sun and local cuisine. Our last night we decided to order room service and enjoy a relaxing night as a family. At 10:30 in the evening there was a knock at our door. My husband looked out the peephole to see who was knocking. He didn’t see anyone so we figured it was the staff picking up our dishes from dinner. As my husband was walking back to bed the door opened. He turned around quickly and yelled “excuse me” to the gentleman trying to enter our room. The gentleman handed him a piece of paper and left. The paper said there was a problem with our payment method and we needed to contact the front desk. My husband called and the front desk attendant made some story of how our bank would not hold the $700 that the hotel requires for more than 7 days and since it was past the seven days when they went to finalize our bill the card would not work. I was on my bank app and stated that this was not true and that the hold was still on our account. The gentleman asked for my husband to come downstairs to clear this matter. My husband did, the situation with payment was resolved but the situation that we were most angry about was someone trying to enter our room. Though the staff apologized they stated that it was their policy to knock and if no one answers to come in. Needless to say I didn’t sleep that night.
