Overall a pleasant stay, with a few misses in service/hospitality.
First day, we stopped at the bar ordered a margarita with Cointreau, we were charged $12 for the Margarita + $12 for the Cointreau up charge = $24…typically there would be a $3 to $4 up charge for this less than 1oz ingredient.
On a separate occasion we had dinner at Alba, sat outside by the pool, there were 4 employees (1 bartender, 3 servers), 4 tables sitting outside, no tables inside and still waited 30 plus minutes to get drinks and close to 45min to get food.
During one of our “let’s relax by the pool” moments, around 10:30am, the maintenance crew decided to power wash the floor surrounding the pool area, most hotels would typically do this between 7 and 9am to not be a nuisance to people and families trying to enjoy the pool and sunshine.
The property is centrally located to the beach and easy access around the island. The access to Vivo Beach is a great amenity. Hotel has a modern feel and room turndown service very kid friendly.
Few misses on hospitality, that said, we stayed at The Royal Sonesta last year and would choose Hyatt Centric over the Royal Sonesta on our next visit.
