“We had a really disappointing experience with Powhatan Motel. After driving 16 hours on a long road trip, we arrived around 3am expecting to check in, since the motel clearly advertises a 24-hour front desk and check-in availability after 4pm. “The woman who checked us in is such a hard worker. The next morning she was running the desk and helping in the breakfast area as it was extremely busy. However…our room had just been cleaned and it had a weird smell. I always check for bedbugs at any place we stay. Bed sheets looked clean and fresh until I lifted the fitted sheet to find another mattress sheet cover and saw an area of brown something. I did take a photo. “Everything was good. What should be expected ”

“Front desk staff was great, friendly and courteous. Parking was easy and close. Breakfast was the usual hotel stuff waffle maker, cereal etc.”

“Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly. Toilet was loose. Reported it friday AM. Monday AM when we left……still nothing. Could have been a hazard. The hottub/spa inoperable. Never fixed. There’s NO maintenance workers?? Inexcusable. And there’s a Holiday Inn Express right across the street. ”

“This place was just OK seemed to have gotten better reviews, which is why we picked it. The rooms were just fine but a little dirty. The shower was wonderful. The breakfast was nothing but I really dislike drinking coffee out of Styrofoam cups. It was dog friendly but when I took my dog outside, I’ve never seen so much trash surrounding a building and I didn’t wanna walk my dog in all the trash. The price was good for what we got.”

“The town and the inn were beautiful! We had dinner at the tavern connected to the inn. Then we walked to The Creamery (delicious). The room was very nicely done and had little extras (popcorn and candy from a local business). The whole place seemed like a Hallmark movie inn. Definitely stay there again!”
