This is a traditional japanese hotel...witg futons and communal bathing area which was fun to experience. Snow monkeys were fun to see.”

“Nydelig hotell med godt vertskap! God mat og flott med tilbud om lokal transport i området rundt (eks til monkey park og togstasjonen). Utrolig fornøyd med mitt opphold her! Anbefales på det sterkeste! Det ligger midt i sentrum av Shibu onsen, perfekt dersom man ønsker å bruke de varme kildene (onsen) i området!”

“Staff was friendly and working hard. Room was clean, comfortable and nicely updated… but they’re fighting an uphill battle against an aging run down building with apparently a long-broken elevator for 6 floors. Great price on difficult to find lodging in the area.”

“Was a great stay at this great little inn. It may be a bit different than what most western guest expect to find, but I went for the Ryokan experience and was not disappointed. Staff were really great, helpful in scheduling transport to the monkey park and to the train station. Room was clean, good size, and had everything I needed. The town itself is a cute little village and it was a great experience going to all 9 baths in the town. The baths themselves could use a bit more attention... some...

“Room was massive, double the size of any room we have stayed in in Japan. Pillows had both Western and traditional Japan options. Fiona was encompassed in a fitted sheet (never seen this before) but kept us all warm even when it was sub 0 outside. Room had access to outdoor area, exclusive to the room, which had table and chairs.
