Squirrel’s Nest is just a few minutes walk to the famous Babbacombe Downs overlooking Lyme Bay. The nostalgic Victorian Cliff railway takes you to the Sandy beach below where you can hire kayaks in the summer, or if you feel energetic you can walk the meandering road down through the trees instead. A theatre, restaurants and coffee shops are all within 5 mins walk serving devon clotted cream teas among other delicious treats.

We are blessed with the location as you can easily reach many other areas of South Devon easily and quickly. Brixham and Paignton are close at hand as is the magnificent beauty of Dartmoor - our National Park with its free wandering ponies. Beaches are everywhere with many offering paddle boards and kayaks to hire. The medieval town of Totnes is some 20 minutes away with a wonderful river tour down the Dart to Dartmouth with its Naval History and quaint cobbled streets. Should you wish to shop then catch the train from Torquay to the city of Exeter. The train runs alongside the sea for much of the journey and is an excursion in its own right!
