“Went to check out the breakfast. Was not impressed. Been to many hotels that have hot breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage & potatoes. Waffle maker and many other breakfast items. Coffee wasn't even good. Ended up going to a Family restaurant down the road. ”

“Pool was slimy, but hot tub was perfect- no disturbances, clean place.. however there is a fee for pets if you’re bringing a pet, something I wasn’t totally aware of when booking. But! Other than that it’s a great stay for the area. ”

“This property was wonderful value at an excellent price! In particular the staff was very helpful (and courteous) in answer several questions I had. The only pity is that I was on a tight schedule, so I didn't have as much time to kick back and relax”

“This is an older property with no frills but room was clean. Property is located on main highway through town so there was a bit of traffic noise. We had a truck and trailer unit so parking was a challenge but staff worked with us on this”

“The Birchy is a renovated motel that sits right on U.S. 41. As their literature states all their rooms face Lake Superior, true, but U.S. 41 is a very busy highway, and the sound proofing the room is not the best. I had to use earplugs and put a pillow on my head to shut out the noise. Otherwise, the room is very contemporary, sparse, but neat and clean. Very good accommodations. There is no front desk, so you let yourself in by an entry code, and leave by using an exit code. Very efficient....
